Ascend into wisdom at the dojo of the slow boil
Camp Hawai'i
Taking place in the rural town of Hawi, we gather each spring with outstanding instructors in Danzan Ryu and the greater martial arts community. Featuring instructors from DZR to Seifukujitsu, to Hawaiian Lua, to Kendo, we focus on the Hawaiian concepts with a localized theme and unique t-shirt design.
Note: If you are coming from off-island please attempt come in Thursday before and leaving the following Monday so those volunteering transportation can attend classes/work and help with setup/breakdown. (It is 2hrs one way from Kona or Hilo airport) and know that Kilauea volcano is a solid 3+ hrs one way from Camp in Hawi, (welcome to the BIG island!)

Retreat Center Facility includes:

Showers/Restrooms/Electrical outlets for phones, etc.

2-3 Martial Class Areas (depending on dividers)

Healing Tables will be out on the back lanai (weather permitting)

NO internet (Yes I'm saying it again.)
Please pack:

Gi/clothes

45-60 degree weather clothes (it can get cool at night)

Pillow/bedding any additional padding (you'll have a bunk bed mattress)

Shower/toiletries

Towel

Phone charger (limited reception, no internet)

Pretend your "glamping" in a rural cabin with electricity, hot water & your favorite DZR people.
